# Join Voice Channel

**Introduction**

The "Join Voice Channel" step enables an automation to make the bot join a specified voice channel within a Discord server.

**Configuration**

* **Channel**: Select the voice channel you want the bot to join. This is a required field to specify exactly where the bot should go upon execution of this step.

**Permissions**

* **Connect**: The bot must have the permission to connect to voice channels in order to execute this step successfully.

**Usage**

This step is ideal for setting up situations where the bot's presence in a voice channel is required, whether for moderation purposes, to play music, or to signal the start of a voice-based event or meeting within the server.
