# Close Thread Channel

**Introduction** 

This step allows for the closing of a thread channel within a guild, effectively archiving it.

**Configuration**

* **Channel**: Select the thread channel that you wish to close. The channel must be a thread channel. This is a required field.

**Usage** 

Ideal for managing thread channels in a guild, such as archiving completed discussions, closing topics that are no longer active, or maintaining an organized channel structure.

**Permissions**

* Requires the "Manage Threads" permission to close thread channels in a guild.
